The company Casteldoria is a story of nature and passion
Our farm with livestock breeding extends over about 200 hectares of land divided into various plots distributed between the municipalities of Santa Maria Coghinas, Perfugas and Bulzi. The farm has a zootechnical focus: cattle are bred from the crossbreed of Sardinian cows with ‘charolaise’ and ‘limousine’ beef bulls.
The calves born are destined for slaughter. Part of the farm’s land is used both for free grazing of the animals and for cultivating the fodder and other vegetables with which we feed our cattle and pig herds.
Our animals live in a healthy and natural way, however, as per legal regulations they are subjected to regular health checks, so that the meat, as well as acquiring flavour, quality and genuineness, is guaranteed and safe for consumers. The meat has a bright red colour and is particularly juicy.
The pigs we breed are of domestic breeds and are fattened with cereals, barley meal, peas and maize so that the meat is soft and the resulting sausages have a delicate aroma, accompanied by a light scent of spices. All the produce from the farm is used to make the dishes at Agriturismo Casteldoria.
